Slide A Custom Plan Active exercise is the foundation of physical rehabilitation. Active muscle contractions and weight-bearing activities are an essential part of recovery and conditioning. At Up & Running Canine Rehabilitation, we employ a variety of therapeutic exercises in our treatment programs. These exercises are designed to help speed recovery, increase muscle mass and strength, improve balance and coordination, encourage limb use, and improve daily function. We recommend individualized exercise programs for each patient. Your CCRP will design a plan with specific goals for your pet including frequent evaluations to monitor progress. Some examples of therapeutic exercises we may utilize include:
  • Treadmill exercises
  • Cavaletti and weave poles
  • Balance boards
  • Therapy balls
  • Inclines/declines
  • Dancing
  • Weight shifting
  • Sit to stand exercises
  • Wheel-barrowing
  • Stair climbing
  • Therabands
